Anonymous asked: I'm not Muslim, I'm Hindu, and I was wondering if you could talk about the issues between Muslims and Hindus? Do you think it is still a prominent issue today? I don't want to say there is hatred between the two religions, and yet, while I have Muslim friends (we are all Indian though) and Hindu friends, I feel that there are still some people out there in each religion that harbor...

The next major cities/states coming up (in order) are
Washington DC
Maryland

North Carolina
Dearborn, Michigan
Omaha, Nebraska
And because I will be there anyways,
I am re-visiting and meeting with more people in

Anonymous asked: I have looked through your posts, and I have yet to get to the beginning, but I have a strange question. I know you have answered it in many of your personal settings, but I just want emphasis on this. What makes you TRULY believe in your religion? Some people would say it is blind faith, how do you REALLY know that your god (or any god) exists? I'm not asking to debate or argue the existence...

Please keep that in mind. I’d love to meet all of you lovely people.
My dad is mean.
Dad: So then the man went to take wudhu (wash up) so that he could pray but every single time he brought up the bucket from the well, it was filled with diamonds, rubies and other jewels.
Me: Wow.
Dad: Yeah, Allah was testing him. But he was such a strong believer he would say, "Allah, why are you doing this? You know the real treasure to me is prayer and I just want to take my wudhu."
Me: Ha! If that were me I'd say "Thanks Allah!" fill my pockets with jewels and pay people to do my prayer.
Dad: That's why you're not a true believer.
Me: Hey! I was just kidding...maybe.

Salaam everyone,
I’ve gotten quite a few people who are pretty knowledgeable about Islam to sign up for speaking and answering questions for the event but there were some concerns about the weather because it’s been very cold lately and it’s still snowing, just last night there was 3-7 inches. So after much thought, we’ve decided it might be in the best interest of...

Nebraska
Does anybody live in Nebraska? I mean I’m sure people live in Nebraska but anybody interested in being in Salaam America?
Hurt.
Recently I went to an Islamic store that I go to often with a good friend of mine. We were buying gifts to send to those who have helped fund Salaam America and I spent well over $150. The lady working there, about 30-35 years of age was really nice. She was very pretty too, she wore full hijab and she smiled the entire time we were there. I really had a wonderful experience being in that store...

I don't understand some people.
My mom has been having difficulties at her job because a new manager has been specifically mean to her. She’s been working there for years and everybody knows she’s a hard worker but that’s not stopping this individual from giving her trouble for no apparent reason.
If it is because of discrimination against her for being a Muslim, this will be the third job that has fired her...
Prayer.
I want to write about how to prayer but there are different schools of thought and I don’t want to confuse anyone so I will post multiple explanations.
I think the majority of everything is the same though. Here is one article by About.com. To read it on their site click here.

I've read a few pages of this blog/documentary and it's really inspired me. I'm only 15 and I don't pray much. It wasn't around in our household. I see my mom praying on Jum'ah and we all pray during Ramadan but other than that, it's just not around. My little brother thinks of it as more of a chore than anything and that saddens me. You said that...

"Ask an actual Muslim about Islam."
We’re organizing an event in Washington DC on Saturday February the 5th. where various Muslims will come and have signs that say “Ask an actual Muslim about Islam.” The idea is to ask any questions one might have, clear misconceptions and for some people, it will be there first time meeting a Muslim.
It will also be filmed for Salaam America.
There will be free cupcakes and sign up...

"My name is Fatima and I was born in Afghanistan."
Those are always the first two things I think I have to tell people when I introduce myself. As if my name and where I was born have very much to do with who I am today. But they probably do. Anyways, I wanted to write a little about my story because I’ve been getting some questions in regards to who I am and what I do and why I started this project. So I hope that this can answer some...

Eating Meat in Islam
It’s difficult to find legit halal meat around here and many other places which means lots of vegetarian meals. Also, on this trip I’ve met many people who became vegetarian because of the lack of halal food but now they prefer to be vegetarian.
An Islamic tradition states “Do not make your stomach a graveyard for animals.”
Meaning not to eat too much meat. The Prophet...
